Neo Shelf for Autodesk Maya

A modern, fully-compatible replacement for Maya's native shelf.

What it does

• Imports your existing shelves, so nothing has to be rebuilt.
• Adds items the way you're used to — drag and drop, or Shift+Ctrl+click.
• Lets every button carry multiple commands with a customisable trigger for the primary action, secondary action, and pop-up submenus.
• Dock or float as many shelves as you like, in vertical, horizontal, or flow layouts — or stack them together as tabs. Horizontal shelves scroll on the mouse wheel.
• Styling per shelf: custom backgrounds, background colours, icon size, and icon colour tinting. Browse icons from any path you point it at.
• A manager view that edits multiple items in one pass and hides panels you don't need without losing their data.
• hiDPI-aware since v1.1.

Setup

Installation steps and the full manual live in the user guide wiki. Tested with Maya 2025 and 2026. Worth backing up the config file regularly — there's a known minor bug where opening or closing a panel can shift the selection in the manager to the top item.
